Guess the Load

Guess the Load

The 77th annual Oregon Logging Conference, held February 19-21, in Eugene, Ore., was a great success. Hundreds of attendees came to take in the educational seminars and displays and view state-of-the-art machinery.

The event was even more successful for Dan Arens, a logger from Polluck Pines, Calif., who won this year’s Guess the Load contest with a guess of 6,785 board feet and walked away with a $250 gift certificate to Cabelas.

Dan’s guess was the only guess within 5 board feet. The net scale on the load was 6,790 board feet. (The gross scale on the load was 7,830, defect was 13.3 percent—the truck was loaded a little light.)

Dan had a lot of competition this year. There were 986 guesses in the 2015 Guess the Load contest.

Thanks go out to Swanson Brothers Lumber Company who made it all possible.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
