Family Fun Day at the Oregon Logging Conference

Children have delighted in the fun educational exhibits and activities at the OLC Family Fun Day for more than ten years. All OLC exhibits are free and open to the public. New exhibits this year will be the Crosscut saw demonstration, “magic wood” display from Oregon State University’s Wood Innovation Center, wildfire safety demonstration, and salmon storytelling tent.

The storytelling tent is a 30-foot long nylon inflatable salmon tent  with a variety of forest themed stories to keep everyone entertained. Children and parents are encouraged to dress in colorful costumes of birds, insects, wolves, and other creatures and “fly, hop, swim or walk” in a short parade through the Wheeler Pavilion prior to storytelling.

There will also be wildlife exhibits, educational activities including paper making and building bird feeders, millions of dollars of logging equipment to explore, and chainsaw wood carvers in the outside demonstration area.

Family Fun Day is sponsored by KEZI TV.
