New SK350 at the OLC, ready to be delivered after the show

New SK350 at the OLC, ready to be delivered after the show

The 2013 Oregon Logging Conference was definitely a success.

With the recession hitting the forest industry especially hard, the show’s attendance over the past few years has reflected the economic hardship on the region.

More People
This year things seemed to have turned around. Executive Director, Rikki Wellman, says, “I felt it was the best since 2008.  Thursday the attendance was better than we expected. Friday was even better than Thursday. The meetings were also very well attended.”

More Machines
Another sign that things are improving . . . more machines on display. “Numbers of machines at the show were up, mainly due to more inventory available,” says Wellman. “Several machines displayed were sold — something we haven’t seen for a few years.”
