OLC President, Ken Wienke

OLC President, Ken Wienke

This year’s Oregon Logging Conference President is Ken Wienke, and he’ll be giving the president’s address on Friday morning.

Ken has been with Boise Cascade for 32 years and is currently the company’s Western Oregon Wood Procurement Manager — responsible for the procurement of logs and timber sales for Western Oregon veneer mills as well as the logging, road construction and other requirements of Boise Cascades Western Oregon timber sale contracts.

Ken graduated from Crook County High School in Prineville, Ore., and served in the US Army for 2 years during the Vietnam War after which he attended and received a BS degree in Forest Engineering from Oregon State University.

Ken not only serves as the President of the OLC, but is also a board member of Southern Oregon Timber Industries Association and is an oversight member of the OSU-Mealey/Boise Cascade Forest Health Research Foundation.

He’s looking forward to making this a successful show for everyone. If you see him around at the conference, don’t be shy. Step up and say “hi”.
