Event to honor Ed Wirkkala, Martin Nygaard

Loggers, truck drivers and operators will gather from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Appelo Archives Center to celebrate the Center’s fourth annual Old-Time Loggers Reunion. Coffee and refreshments will be provided, and the Archive Café will be open for lunch.

Held annually, the reunion is intended to bring together timber industry workers of all ages and their families as well as other community members who want to honor the industry’s significance in the region.

As is its tradition, the Appelo Archives Center will honor two locals, Ed Wirkkala and Martin Nygaard. Each has a long history of working in the woods, so it is with great pride that they are honored this year.
