The Oregon Women in Timber (OWIT) will hold its 21st annual auction on Friday, February 24 at the Oregon Logging Conference.
The doors open at 5 p.m. for this popular fundraiser, which raises money for the Talk About Trees classroom program. The event starts with a silent auction, and is followed by a no host reception and a dinner. Then prepare yourself for a ROCKUS live auction.
About Talk About Trees
Over 2 million Oregon students have participated in a Talk About Trees classroom program since 1991!
This statewide forestry education program’s goal is to increase student’s knowledge and awareness of forestry and related issues, including the life cycle of trees, forest health, trees as a natural resource, forest as habitat for animals, and careers in forestry.
The on-site, hands-on science unit of study is offered to pre-school through eighth grade students free of charge and is presented by Talk About Trees facilitators.
Your attendance at the auction, a cash donation, a or donation of an auction item will help the OWIT to maintain its success and reach even more students this school year. In addition — all donations and purchases are tax deductible.
If you would like more information about the Talk About Trees or the fundraiser auction, don’t hesitate to contact OWIT’s Diann Washburn at 503-831-1593.
