Husqvarna will be sponsoring the 2012 chainsaw carving event at the 2012 Oregon Logging Conference.

Three chainsaw artists will be on site creating incredible sculptures including, Ryan Anderson.

Ryan’s Climb to the Top
Ryan started his chainsaw carving career in June of 2005 while apprenticing with Tracie Brittenfeld of Packwood, Wash. Ryan became hooked on the trade instantly.

Ryan graduated from Reedsport High School in 2007 and just one year later placed 1st all four days in the semi-pro quick carve event at the Reedsport, Ore. That was followed by the Ocean Shores competition where he took 2nd place in the semi-pro main event and two second place awards in the quick carve.

By October, 2008, Ryan was invited to work for one of the best carvers in the U.S., Mark Colp. Ryan left his hometown of Reedsport and moved to Lakeport, Calif., to take the job.

In 2009 Ryan moved up to the pro category. Since then he has placed within the top five in every pro event he has participated in.

Ryan loves carving and creating awe inspiring pieces for people to enjoy, and feels inspiration is drawn from his love of animals and nature. But he also attributes his ability to many hours of hard work, and the selfless dedication of family, friends and many other carvers that were willing to guide him along the way.
