2013 Guess the Scale contest

2013 Guess the Scale contest

This year was the first time Oregon Logging Conference offered up the Guess the Scale contest, sponsored by Swanson Brothers Lumber Co.

Interesting Guesses
People viewed the load and guessed the number of board feet. Around 960 people entered and here are some of the more interesting guesses:

• 170 feet
• 2,000 boards
• 652,351 pounds
• 758,000 feet
• 260 meters cubed (this entrant was from France).

The correct answer was 5,930 board feet and the winner was Rob MacMillan of Montesano, Wash., who guessed 5,920 board feet. He received the grand prize — a $250 gift certificate from Cabela’s.

The event was such a success that it will be held again at the next OLC, February 20-22, 2014.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
