High school competition at the 2013 OLC

The Oregon Logging Conference isn’t just for the professional loggers, but also for the soon-to-be loggers.

A high school competition is held each year at the OLC and in 2013 the future loggers competed in:
• Cable Splicing
• Crosscut
• Single Buck
• Compass & Pacing
• Tool Identification
• Log Scaling
• Forestry Speech
• Job Interview

To support the next generation of loggers, the OLC Foundation also awards scholarships. This year the foundation awarded $16,000 to six students attending both Oregon State University and Umpqua Community College.

In the last four decades the OLC has contributed over half a million dollars to deserving students.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
